PRACTICE & EXPERIENCE

Myles Taylor practices business law and litigation, including contract claims, partnership and corporate issues, fraud, economic interference, trade secrets, real property, and professional malpractice. He is also experienced in cases involving complex trust and estate litigation and financial elder abuse.

Myles also works with many businesses and entrepreneurs as outside general counsel handling corporate, contract, employment, intellectual property matters, and more. He manages legal issues with his clients while balancing their other business considerations and helping to assess risks in the proper contexts. He has supported clients across a wide range of industries, including financial and professional services, construction, agriculture, cannabis, life sciences, biotech, real estate, retail and e-commerce, and food and beverage.

Myles has represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout California in state and federal courts and in arbitration. He has successfully handled complex cases from inception through trial and appeal, including with damages ranging into the many millions of dollars.

Since 2018, Myles has been selected by his peers as a Sactown Magazine (formerly Sacramento Magazine) “Top Lawyer” in the field of Business Litigation. He has also been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” and a Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation.

Myles serves as Chair of the Business Law Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association.

Myles is admitted to practice law in all California state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Central Districts of California.

EDUCATION

Myles earned his Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was Chief Articles Editor of the McGeorge Law Review. During law school, Myles published an article on attorney ethics and cloud computing technology, received multiple academic awards, and was a judicial extern for the Hon. Kimberly J. Mueller at the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California. Myles previously graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
